EDUCATION
-
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2002 - 2006)
- M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering
- GPA: 4.9 / 5
- Concentration: Distributed Systems, Computer Networks, Security, Distributed Algorithms, Human Computer Interaction
WORK EXPERIENCE
Security
- Google Inc (June 06 - present)
- Software Engineer, Anti-Malware team.
- Mazu Networks, Inc (Summer 2005)
- Worked on a system for automatic identification and signature
generation of (possibly new) worms in networks. The system successfully
identified the Zotob worm spreading on a university network. - MIT (Fall 2005)
- Developed a system for identifying P2P traffic in large networks. We analyze only the headers in the transport layer, which results to an efficient implementation that can also identify previously unknown P2P protocols.
Distributed Computing
- M.Eng Thesis (2005-2006)
- Designed and implemented the TIOA Simulator, a tool for testing and analyzing distributed systems with desired guarantees such as correctness, fault-tolerance, availabilty and efficiency. - Veromodo, Inc (2005-2006)
- Specified and analyzed distributed systems with the TIOA Simulator. Created a Graphical User Interface for developing TIOA and using the TIOA Simulator. - University of Cyprus (Summer 2004)
- Developed complex distributed algorithms on asynchronous networks from code that was proved correct. Implemented algorithms such as the distributed Minimum Spanning Tree formation (GHS).
